Replacement lids or a new set? Compare the whole order.
A simple way to compare useful replacements, delivery charges and mismatched multipacks.
Compare the cost of keeping what works
Start with the number of containers you actually need lids for. A multipack’s price per lid is misleading if half its contents do not fit anything in your drawer. Divide the delivered cost by the number of useful, verified lids.
A worked example
Suppose a four-lid pack costs $16 plus $5 delivery, but only two of its lids match your containers. The effective cost is $21 ÷ 2 = $10.50 per useful lid. A two-lid pack at $14 with free delivery would be $7 per useful lid. These are illustrative prices, not current offers.
Now compare that total with a new matched container set. Include the containers you would actually use, the storage space it takes and whether replacing it would discard otherwise useful glass. The less expensive sticker price is not always the more useful purchase.
Before placing an order
- Check every included model code, including letters.
- Count useful lids rather than total pieces in the package.
- Include shipping, tax and minimum-order conditions.
- Check whether opened replacements can be returned.
- Read care instructions for the replacement itself.
Our shopping list records quantities and source links. It intentionally avoids a live-price promise: the merchant’s checkout is the place to confirm the delivered total.
